SSO’s committee appointment process, the Application for Engagement, allows members to apply for open seats on committees appointed for the upcoming year.
The 2025 Application for Engagement has closed.
In order to participate on an SSO Committee, you must:
- Be a current SSO member paid through the following year. Please contact membership@surgonc.org or visit this link to if you have not renewed for the upcoming year. Please note that after you renew the system will take 24 hours to allow access to the Application for Engagement.
- Commit to allocating time to effectively participate on a committee.
- Commit to attending the SSO Joint Committee Conference held at the SSO Annual Meeting.
Please note that Medical Student/Resident members are not eligible to serve on SSO’s committees.
Notifications will be sent in February 2025. Appointments will begin April 1, 2025.
In an effort to be as inclusive as possible, members are discouraged from serving on more than one volunteer group at a time. New applicants will be reviewed and placed on a volunteer group ahead of current committee members who apply for a second position.
