About the Program
The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center is composed of six hospitals including the Arthur G. James Cancer Center and Richard J. Solove Research Institute. We obtained NCI designation first in 1976 and remain 1 of 51 NCI Comprehensive Cancer Centers. The current dedicated cancer center, the “New” James Cancer Hospital opened in 2014 and is one of the largest dedicated cancer hospitals in a U.S. academic medical center. We are co-located with seven health science colleges fostering a strong culture of research collaboration. Serving 10,000 cancer patients annually we have remarkable institutional commitment and robust community support throughout the tri-state area (OH, KY, WV).
Breast cancer care is delivered in the Stefanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center, a state-of-the-art facility built in 2011 housing surgical, medical, and radiation oncology in additional to a plethora of supportive services. We treat ~1,000 analytic cases among the eight breast surgical oncologists, ten medical oncologists, six plastic and reconstruction surgeons, and five radiation oncologists.
