OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio offers a one-year Breast Surgery Fellowship which prepares surgeons for a lifelong career in the diagnosis and treatment of breast conditions. Our fellowship timely and expedited detection to diagnosis for our patients, prioritizing timely screening and treatment to achieve the best patient outcomes, for benign and malignant diseases. Nationally, Grant has been recognized in the Top 100 Hospitals for Breast Health Services
Program and Facility
Grant is an urban community hospital which draws from a forty-six county radius in Central Ohio, with a strong Breast Surgery Program which emphasizes full-spectrum care for breast patients, weekly multidisciplinary breast pretreatment conferences, and Central Ohio’s only one-stop second opinion clinic for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients. Grant Medical Center provides comprehensive oncologic and multidisciplinary specialty care, with its medical professionals working together to determine the most effective treatment. Our faculty provide our breast surgery fellows the in-depth experience they need to be successful Breast Health and Surgery Specialists.

- 2-Blocks—Pathology and Radiology
- 1-Block–Radiation Oncology, Psycho-Oncology, Rehabilitation/Integrative Medicine
- 2-Blocks—Plastics and Medical Oncology
- 1-Block—Research, Lymphedema Treatment, Community Outreach and Rehabilitation
Research, Publication, Presentation
The program provides protected research time and funding to support the Fellow’s completion of a clinical research project, preparation of a manuscript suitable for publication in a peer-reviewed journal, and presentation of their work at a national meeting. This experience equips Fellows with valuable skills for evidence-based practice and academic advancement.
Meetings and Conferences
Weekly responsibilities include presentations, journal club, and clinics. The Fellow also teaches medical students and rotating residents.
The program fosters advanced skills in multidisciplinary breast care and program management. Graduates from our fellowship are considered top candidates by breast-exclusive practices across the country.
Eligibility
The fellowship program is available to Board-Eligible General Surgeons.
