Brazilian Society of Surgical Oncology

The Brazilian Society of Surgical Oncology (SBCO) was founded in May of 1988 and now has more than 1,500 affiliates. In 2018 the SBCO received the recognition of surgical oncology as a medical specialty and the society was designated as the official representative responsible for board certification in Brazil.

SBCO´s mission is to aggregate professionals involved in cancer treatment, to promote continuous medical education with the exchange of knowledge aimed at prevention, early detection and delivery of the best cancer treatment available for patients, strengthening and representing Brazilian cancer surgery.

Due to flooding in southern Brazil between late April and May, the Congress on GI and HPB has been moved to November 28-30 and will be held in the city of Florianópolis, Santa Catarina.

The Brazilian Society’s Women’s Cancer Congress is being held from July 4 to July 6 in Rio de Janeiro.

III Brazilian Skin Cancer Congress to be held between October 10-12, 2024 in São Paulo.
