The Society of Surgical Oncology supports cancer research and promotes opportunities for the development and success of surgeon scientists. To further that goal, SSO posts opportunities from SSO members for surgical oncologists related to research, which include research fellowships. All postings are at the discretion of SSO.

NIH-NCI | Surgical Oncology T32 Training Program | University of California San Diego  

As a member of the next generation of translational surgeon-scientists, in the Surgical Oncologists as Scientists (SOAS) Training Program you will undergo rigorous training in:

  1. The tumor microenvironment
  2. Techniques of biobanking
  3. Innovation and entrepreneurship

Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Have a strong interest in a career in academic surgical oncology;
  2. Be a categorical surgical resident in an accredited surgical residency;
  3. Be a US citizen or have permanent resident status.

This opportunity is located in San Diego, CA at the UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center.
