New SSO Consensus Statement on GEP Testing
The Society of Surgical Oncology is pleased to announce publication in the Annals of Surgical Oncology of its first consensus statement, Assessing the Evidence For and Utility of Gene Expression Profiling of Primary Cutaneous Melanoma.
Developed by an expert panel of melanoma specialists using an evidence-based process, the statement examines the evidence around four clinical questions and makes consensus-based recommendations on GEP testing for primary cutaneous melanoma.
Intended users are:

Surgical oncologists and proceduralists performing excisions for melanoma and sentinel lymph node biopsy procedures;

Oncologists involved in the care of melanoma patients; and

Dermatologists involved in the care of melanoma patients.
