Cancer Surgery: Who Should Do It? Global Perspectives
London Global Cancer Week Session

Description: Ensuring the delivery of timely, safe, and affordable surgical cancer care is dependent on the presence of an adequately trained and competent surgical cancer workforce. It is well-known that there is a major shortage of surgeons that are capable of delivering surgical cancer care on the global stage. In addition to the shortage, there is also extreme variability in the training paradigms and practice patterns leading to inconsistency in the capabilities of the surgeon and thereby the care that is provided. This session will include speakers who will focus on the type of surgical workforce required to deliver high-quality cancer surgery, pertaining to their region of the world.

Location: Virtual

Date/Time: November 14th at 13:00-14:00 London Time (7:00-8:00am CT)
